After several months of work, the Old Bridge and, in its extension, the rue du Général-Sarrail will once again be able to be used by residents and visitors to the town of Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne).
Classified as a historic monument In 1911, the Vieux bridge in Montauban had been under construction for several months. It was in May 2023 that the renovation work on the building began. Objectives: its beautification and bringing this essential traffic axis for the city up to standard.
Reopening on December 20, 2024
From Friday December 20, the Vieux bridge will be open again in both directions of traffic.
Same thing for rue du Général-Sarrail, which can also be used in both directions.
“However, adjustments remain to be finalized. These will not disrupt traffic,” warn the Agglomeration and the City of Montauban. THE estimated overall cost of this project was €2.4 million excluding taxfinanced by the Urban Community and the City. This work received the support of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs, the Local Investment Support Grant, the Occitanie Region and the Tarn-et-Garonne Department.
