The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) affirmed, Tuesday, December 17, that the prisoners prosecuted in the so-called “Escobar of the Sahara” case are incarcerated in distinct, separate neighborhoods and units. from each other.

In a press release consulted by Barlamane.com, the DGAPR specified that, like all detainees, “these prisoners do indeed have televisions and benefit from the right to use the telephone in accordance with the regulations in force while being subject to strict supervision.”

Denial of rumors about privileges granted to detainees

The delegation categorically denied allegations that the prisoners concerned received their meals from a caterer specializing in festive events. She recalled that the meals of all inmates of the penitentiary establishment “are prepared by a company operating in this field, in accordance with the standards in force.”

Furthermore, the DGAPR refuted information claiming that Ward 11 of the local prison in Casablanca “would be reserved for wealthy inmates.” She specified that this unit “is intended for prisoners aged over 60 as well as prisoners from paramilitary forces or those prosecuted for various matters. None of the detainees involved in the “Malian drug lord” affair are incarcerated in this district.a-t-on souligné.
