The number of people in emergency rooms is once again increasing sharply. To relieve congestion in the service and save time, patients with minor ailments are invited to go as a priority to their general practitioner or to the medical hotlines at the Jura Hospital (H-JU).
Since its opening this summer, the MEDIQO + medical center in Delémont has welcomed more than 1,200 patients, the vast majority of whom are very satisfied with the care.
The time limit is much shorter than in emergencies, where priority is given to the heaviest cases, recalls the H-JU.
Two places to unload the H-JU
The Jura Hospital invites people wishing to be consulted by a doctor within a reasonable time to go to their GP or to a medical clinic. MEDIQO + in Delémont is accessible on working days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Porrentruy polyclinic every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the event of overload, the H-JU can redirect patients to these hotlines.
No strike for Christmas in pediatrics
For their part, like their Geneva colleagues, the Jura pediatricians are lifting their strike threat. The federal chambers should take up the question of the care tax of 40 francs. what health insurance companies want to do to them.
This tax cannot be collected for salaried doctors, which only seems to affect the pediatrics department of the H-JU and the MediPed company in Delémont in the Jura, according to the president of the Jura pediatricians Pierre-Olivier Cattin. And neither charges this tax to patients.
The Jura pediatricians have not had any information at this stage showing that the health insurance companies would try to no longer reimburse, or even request a retrocession of this tax deemed essential to run a private practice during on-call periods. In other words, private pediatric and medical care will operate during the holidays and until further notice.
