The Guérande aquatic center (-Atlantique) will close for 5 months.

From December 31, 2024 to May 30, 2025, major work will be carried out. Cost of the operation: €500,000, financed by the La Baule / Guérande CapAtlantique agglomeration, owner of the structure. The site was entrusted to the company Etandex.

Renovation of pools and changing rooms

The renovation will mainly focus on the wet area and the changing rooms.

Cape Atlantic.

The coverings and chutes of the two pools, aquatic and recreational, will be completely redone “to correct their discoloration aspects as well as encrusted stains, and ensure their waterproofing. The work will also make it possible to regain better grip on the ground.”

Following detachment or breakage, the tiling will be replaced in certain areas such as on the beaches, in the changing rooms and toilets and on the slide.

What happens to the 18 employees?

As for the 18 Recrea employees working in Aquaguérande, a request for partial unemployment was made to the DDETS, departmental directorate of employment, labor and solidarity.

Employees may also, depending on needs, be deployed to the Piriac-sur-Mer structure or participate in the opening of the Herbignac aquatic center. They will also have the possibility of having another employer contract during the period “subject to specifying this to us and bearing in mind that they remain available as a priority in the event of a recall according to the notice periods in force”, indicates Recrea at the Echo of the peninsula.

Provisions for users

During the closure period “and to limit the inconvenience caused”, arrangements were made with the delegatee Récréa.

Additional slots for schools were opened between September and December 2024 and will be opened in June 2025, upon completion of the work. Swimming lessons have been scheduled over 20 sessions for this year 2024-2025. Regarding subscriptions, they will be valid at the AquaPiriac center.
