Christian Prodhomme first explains his passion for illuminations through a childhood frustration:
My parents were castle guards. There was no Christmas or presents.
Then, it was his professional life that would make his idea grow: “I was chef at the National Geographic Institute. » With 900 seats in the restaurant room. At the time, he received photos from all over the world, posters, brochures, which he carefully preserved.
Christiane gradually became associated with decorations through her sense of tidying up: “For 43 years, I worked at the Galeries Lafayette. I know how to arrange things on the shelves. There are ways to adjust colors, heights. »
From June
To decorate and illuminate the garden, work begins at the start of summer, says Christiane: “With the Olympics, we had a lot of things to do. We never do the same, the themes change every year. »
Thus, Nicolas, a puppet, is no longer at school but in Mexico. Africa has expanded, Morocco with its teapots and sheets give the illusion of a trip to the Maghreb. Brocéliande, under the snow, emerges from a cabin that we thought was empty. The North Pole and its polar bear are not far from the ducks, real ones, splashing in the water.
