The Palais de Bondy reopens its doors this weekend after a year of work

The Palais de Bondy in Lyon reopens its doors to the public this weekend, after a year of work, with the Regain Art Lyon exhibition on the programme starting this Saturday.

It finally reveals its new face. After a year of work, the Palais de Bondy in Lyon reopens its doors to the public this weekend of September 14. On the outside, its facades have been completely restored. You also have to go up to the roof of the building to see the improvements made.

“These machines enable smoke extraction and comfortable ventilation of all performance halls,” explains Adeline Basty, architect in charge of the project at the Croisé d’Archi agency.

Thanks to this work, the Palais de Bondy can once again host concerts, shows and exhibitions. It is also accessible, from this Saturday, with the Regain Art Lyon.

“It’s a place that is perfectly suited to this type of exhibition, it really allows us to showcase all the works of all these talented painters, sculptors and photographers. We are very happy to be exhibiting for the reopening,” rejoices Elise Palmigiani, president of the Regain Art Lyon fair.

“We love sharing our passion with the people of Lyon”

This reopening is also an opportunity for Guignol to return to his home. The famous puppet will be back in service on October 16th and the artists are already looking forward to it.

“We’ve obviously lost people, we’ve played a lot less, so the artistic teams are super happy because we’re going to get back to regularity. We’re also happy because we love this place and we love sharing our passion with the people of Lyon, with everyone,” says Emma Utges, director of the MA Company of the Théâtre Guignol de Lyon.

While waiting for the first performance, visits to the Guignol theater will be carried out during the heritage days on the weekend of September 21-22.
