A serious road traffic accident occurred near Verdun this Wednesday, December 11, around 9 a.m.
A car and a tanker truck collided on the Voie Sacrée, on the RD 1916 between Lemmes and Souilly.
According to the first information in our possession, the impact was head-on, with the vehicles traveling in the opposite direction.
Around fifteen firefighters from Verdun and Dieue-sur-Meuse were mobilized, as well as a nurse from Beausite. They were quickly supported by a team from Smur from the Verdun hospital center. Mayor Hervé Corvisier, informed, was also on site.
Three victims were treated by emergency services. The vital prognosis of one of them was in jeopardy.

Alternating traffic was initially put in place before completely blocking the road to traffic, in order to allow emergency services to intervene safely. The evacuation operations of the two vehicles (the heavy goods vehicle and the car), by a recovery company, also required this closure.
