Discovery of careers for high-Alpine students – News from State services – News

November is traditionally the month of career discovery. The establishments of Hautes-Alpes therefore mobilized through various events organized in the region.

The second edition of Orientation Night took place on Friday, November 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in .

This unmissable event for young people and their families offers an interactive dive into the world of professions. Professionals from all backgrounds and guidance experts were present to inform, exchange and inspire future talents.

Among the different career centers presented this year, one of them was dedicated to those of National Education. Also, thirteen personnel mobilized around three distinct categories of professions:

– teaching and training (school, middle and high school teacher, director, teacher trainer, etc.),

– administrative, technical or logistical functions (general secretary, department head, administrative secretary, sports technical advisor, technical and maintenance agent, etc.)

– management jobs (National Education Inspector, head of school, Principal Education Advisor, Youth and Sports Inspector, Director of the Canopé workshop, etc.).

Around 500 students visited the career centers and were able to interact with professionals.
Industry Week took place from November 18 to 22. Launched for the thirteenth consecutive year by the General Directorate of Enterprises (DGE), it is aimed at young people, professionals and the general public. In the Hautes-Alpes, nearly 550 students from 4th, 3rd, 3rd Prépa Métiers, second and first as well as students from 7 public middle schools, 4 general or technological high schools and 4 vocational high schools, had the opportunity to discover behind the scenes of companies, to meet key players as well as to learn about careers and industrial professions from the twenty or so companies in the High Alpine region who presented their know-how, either in welcoming the classes into their company, or by intervening directly in the classes.

The Careers and Training Forum brought together on Thursday, November 21 at the Achille Mauzan college in Gap all the 4th and 3rd grade students from the 14 public colleges of Hautes-Alpes and the Maison Familiale Rurale (MFR) as well as the 3 “Prépa-Métiers” sections of 3 high alpine high schools.

Organized by the office of the Association Avenir Carrières05 with the collaboration of all the heads of establishments in Hautes-Alpes, twenty-two professional sectors were represented.

The day was divided into three phases in order to accommodate all classes. For each phase, two professional fields were presented in a 1h30 conference then, for 30 minutes, the students were free to meet representatives of the high schools of their choice and various organizations in order to obtain details on the training or professions.

As part of the ropes of successa National Education system, which offers support to students in their orientation process with a view to introducing greater social equity in access to training thanks to a partnership signed between a middle school or high school and an establishment higher education, debates between 3rd grade and high school students were organized.

At Veynes middle school, for example, 3rd year students were able to talk with five former high school classmates who answered their questions relating to adapting to high school: the significant differences with middle school, the objectives to set in order to successfully enter high school. high school.

These debates allowed middle school students to better plan for professional or general and technological training.
