New family greeting card for Philipe and Mathilde from Belgium, their four children together

Philippe and Mathilde from Belgium unveiled their 2025 greeting card which highlights the couple surrounded by their four children, reunited for the first time since the summer.

In 2024, Philippe and Mathilde of Belgium celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, but it is not their couple that they decided to highlight for 2025. This December 11, the Belgian Palace unveiled the traditional greeting card of the royal family which honors the king and queen but also their four children, gathered to celebrate the end of year holidays.

“The new greeting cards from the Royal Family are in the (mail) box! » writes the Palace on social networks in the caption of the photo which brings together the Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Philippe and Mathilde appear seated in the front row, surrounded by their four children, Elisabeth, Gabriel, Emmanuel and Éléonore, standing and smiling behind them.

If the three men of the family stick to the usual suits, decorated with red, brown and blue ties, Queen Mathilde opts for an electric blue look, imitated by her youngest daughter, Éléonore, who however chose a darker blue . Finally, Crown Princess Elisabeth shines in a dark red pantsuit from the Jigsaw brand.

The difficult reunion of the royal children

The royal family does not specify the date of the photo session but it is possible that the photo dates from this summer. Indeed, since September, the four children of Philippe and Mathilde have been living scattered across four different countries. The eldest, Elisabeth, is in the United States where she is pursuing brilliant studies at Harvard, while Gabriel continues his military training at St-Cyr Coëtquidan, in Morbihan, and Emmanuel is training to become a footballer in Spain. Only Éléonore, 16 years old, remains in Belgium with her parents.

We can, however, imagine that Philippe and Mathilde will organize a big family reunion for the end-of-year holidays, the siblings remaining close despite the distance and the Queen having already publicly spoken out about the dizziness inspired by the “empty nest” syndrome. “, which refers to the anxiety that parents have at seeing their adult children leave home.
