How can we deal with the ban on the landfilling of household waste by 2030, knowing that around 32,000 tonnes are transported each year to the Kermat center in Inzinzac-Lochrist (Morbihan)?
To answer the question, the elected officials of Lorient Agglomération ratified, Tuesday December 10, 2024, in community council, a cooperation agreement with three unions responsible for waste treatment in Finistère.
Concretely, from 2025, 18,000 tonnes of household waste will be sent to the incinerators of Concarneau, Carhaix and Briec-de-l'Odet, near Quimper. The figure will increase to 24,000 tonnes in 2026 and to 25,000 tonnes from 2027. An operation which will cost approximately “one million euros per year” to the agglomeration, according to Alain Nicolazo, first vice-president.
