A rare torch purchased on Leboncoin

The purchase was made at the very beginning of November 2024 on the online sales platform between individuals: Leboncoin. “I knew that the torchbearers had received an official torch as a gift. I'm more into football, but the Olympics, especially in Paris, were exceptional! I was hoping to find a torch and I came across an advert, from a man presumably military in view of the products posted online on the account.

Military affairs and a famous torch from the Paralympic Games sold at €750. “It's nothing. It's worth €40,000, I saw some on eBay for €15,000, but that one was a bit damaged. » This torch will be a rare copypublished only 500 copies.

The sale is concluded, the seller sends a photo of his package before posting it. Everything seems to be correct. Except that, on November 6, 2024, Laurent goes to The Post Office from Mareuil-lès-Meaux, to collect his long-awaited torch. “I was given a small bag that was not the shape of the package sent. However, it did have my name on it. »

A problem during the delivery of the package?

Is this a scam? Or a problem with delivery? Laurent leans towards second option, convinced that he has not come across a scam. “I looked carefully, the seller even sent me a photo of the package before sending it. This is not the first time that I have ordered online on sites like Leboncoin,” assures Laurent, highlighting the fifty positive reviews on the seller's account. “I can tell if it’s a scam. »

The problem could then come from the delivery. Laurent claims that, on the wrong package received, a second label is there. “We were able to put my name on another package. » The real package is not never happened at the Mareuil-lès-Meaux Post Office.

After several weeks, the package remains not found. Chronopost, responsible for delivery, advises Laurent to request a compensation on the Leboncoin website. “It's really bad luck, I collected another package, from a purchase also made on Leboncoin, at the La Poste relay point in Mareuil-lès-Meaux and everything went well. »
