The jury must have enjoyed it. After that of the best brioche last October, the Professional Chamber of Bakers and Pastry Chefs of Tarn-et-Garonne organized the departmental competition for the best cake and the best shell Friday December 6. In Montauban, the jury awarded nine winners.
Where to eat the best almond pancake or the best shell?
Here are the competition winners in each category:
Special apprentice competition for the best cake:
- 1st: “Au Pain Perdu”, Mr. Spironello Louis in Caussade
- 2nd: “Au Pain Perdu”, M. Denoux Clément in Caussade
- 3rd: “At the Patissarium”, Melle Noubel in Castelsarrasin.
Best pancake competition:
- 1st: “Les Douceurs de Malause”, Mr. Carballo in Malause
- 2nd: “The Brigadier”, Mr. Hugues Pean, in Ardus
- 3rd: “Boulangerie Albert”, M. Albert in Verdun-sur-Garonne.
Competition for the best hull:
- 1st: “Albert Bakery” M. Albert in Verdun-sur-Garonne,
- 2nd: “Fournil de Boulange”, Mr. Vayssié in Canals
- 3rd: “Au P'tit Chenou Bakery”, Mr. Haffner in Aucamville.
Note that the winner of the best pancake will represent Tarn-et-Garonne for the Regional competition.
