Royal Air Maroc is resuming its transatlantic flights to Casablanca and São Paulo, while inaugurating a new strategic route to Toronto.
After a five-year hiatus, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) marked an expected return by reestablishing its direct route between Casablanca and São Paulo, thus strengthening its strategic role in the development of connections between Morocco and South America. The first flight of this historic recovery, operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed Saturday evening at Guarulhos international airport, carrying around 300 passengers, according to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP).
This recovery takes place in a context of strong demand, both from business travelers and tourists, consolidating economic and cultural links between two dynamic poles on both sides of the Atlantic. From now on, this line will operate three times a week, with scheduled departures from Casablanca on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 4:45 p.m. for an arrival in São Paulo at 10:20 p.m. (local time). Return flights will depart São Paulo on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 12:25 a.m., arriving in Casablanca at 1:15 p.m. (local time).
Othmane Baba, Regional Director of RAM, highlighted the strategic importance of this route and highlighted the codeshare agreement with GOL Linhas Aereas, the main Brazilian carrier. This partnership extends connectivity to many other destinations in Brazil, providing passengers with expanded travel options, while consolidating Casablanca’s role as an international air hub.
Royal Air Maroc’s hub in Casablanca stands out for its global reach, connecting travelers to no less than 97 destinations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and soon Asia, thanks to the expected recovery of the direct line to Beijing. This extensive network reflects the growing ambitions of the company, which supports Morocco’s strategic initiatives, including the joint organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal.
Strengthened transatlantic expansion: Casablanca-Toronto
As part of this development dynamic, RAM also inaugurated a new direct link between Casablanca and Toronto last Sunday. The first flight, carrying 204 passengers, marked an important step in the expansion of the company’s international network. On the other side of the Atlantic, the inaugural flight from Toronto welcomed nearly 275 passengers, bringing the total number of travelers on these first two journeys to 480.
Operated three times a week, this connection is in addition to the historic Casablanca-Montreal line, in service since 1975. With departures from Casablanca on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 4:45 p.m., flights reach Toronto at 7:25 p.m. (local time). Returns leave Toronto at 9:30 p.m. to land in Casablanca at 10:50 a.m. the next day.
The reopening of the Casablanca-São Paulo line and the inauguration of the Casablanca-Toronto line are part of a broader strategy aimed at consolidating Royal Air Maroc’s position as a key player in international trade. By diversifying and strengthening its transatlantic connections, the company meets the expectations of the Moroccan diaspora, tourists and investors, while supporting Morocco’s economic development.
From São Paulo to Toronto, Royal Air Maroc is strengthening its global network, helping to position Casablanca as a true crossroads of connectivity between continents. These initiatives demonstrate a renewed commitment to connecting communities, boosting trade and supporting the Kingdom’s ambitions in the global and regional arenas.
