Two students from the “Pole dance 65” school, which teaches at the Lannedarré neighborhood center in Lourdes, will participate in the world pole dance championship, in Rome, from December 13 to 15.
Their selection as a duo in the 14-17 year old category allowed Lucie and Oriane to join the French pole dance team and to have their place to participate in the Pole Art Championship (the equivalent of the world championship) which takes place December 13-15 in Rome, Italy.
Students in the “pole dance 65” school and coached by Florence Abbadie, Lucie and Oriane multiply their good performances: the duo recently received a gold medal at the official pole dance championship in Hendaye (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
This discipline, which depends on the French Dance Federation and which is still little known, often encounters prejudices but it is nevertheless a complete sporting discipline which requires strength, flexibility and grace, all of which plays on the laws of gravity. .
Florence would never have imagined that by creating her school in 2013 in Lourdes; she would find herself a few years later with her students for such a competition and to represent her city, her department and her country in Rome…
