It's no surprise, it's even a habit in Ligue 1 now. At the slightest rivalry, the travel of opposing supporters is prohibited by the prefectures or by the Ministry of the Interior. And the fan clubs concerned regularly file appeals before the administrative courts. This is what happened last week for the people of Nantes in Paris.
The fear of clashes between the “ultras” of the two clubs
For this Sunday, derby day against Rennes, the Loire-Atlantique prefecture therefore issued an order to prohibit the arrival of Rennais, given the rivalry between the two clubs and incidents that have taken place in recent years between supporters of the two teams. The latest was last April, when the “ultras” from both camps considered fighting before being dispersed by the gendarmes. The decision is also motivated by internal tensions in Nantes between supporters and leaders, tensions which were manifested by the attempted invasion of the Beaujoire land, during the reception of Le Havre by 70 to 80 “ultras”, hooded faces.
Banned everywhere in the Nantes metropolis
Supporters of Stade Rennais have neither the right to come to the stadium nor to appear in all 24 municipalities of the Nantes metropolis from this Saturday evening, 6 p.m. until Monday morning, 8 a.m. But an appeal is not excluded and by Sunday, things can still change.
