clean urban and natural areas

Make Mayotte an example of cleanliness. A message from the departmental council and Sidevam 976. For 3 days, young and old are invited to participate in cleaning the island, on their own scale.

On December 5, 6 and 7, 2024, the departmental council calls for general mobilization to get rid of the waste that punctuates Mayotte. We must break this image which harms the promotion of the island. After the associations, intercos and town halls, it is the department which is launching the fight against waste for 3 days.

Mayotte clean island deserves this mobilization. The Mtsamboro departmental councilor counts on the responsibility of community agents to take part in this major meeting which aims to eliminate dirt from our streets and our villages which is incompatible with the tourist promotion of Mayotte.

It is about cleaning but above all raising awareness among the population of the need to preserve the environment by collecting and sorting waste.

Schoolchildren are also involved in the operation. Collection points for green or heavy waste will also be made available to the population to get rid of bulky items.

It must be admitted that Mayotte is in dire need of cleaning. In some places, trash cans pile up and overflow onto the roads, to the great despair of the local residents concerned.

Goodbye car wrecks

Car wrecks along roadsides in Mayotte should in principle no longer be part of the landscape after December 7. To make this major cleanup a success, the department is counting on the awareness component and on town halls to take over. Sanctions against offenders could be taken, the departmental councilor of M'tsamboro is not against. Some municipalities already apply it.
