Ziguinchor, Dec 3 (APS) – The Agency for the Development and Supervision of Small and Medium Enterprises (ADEPME) will provide assistance to more than 300 SMEs in the Ziguinchor region (south), to help them be more competitive and create more jobs, we learned on Tuesday from its general director, Marie Rose Faye.
“We want to enable more than 300 SMEs in the Ziguinchor region to continue their activities with much more competitiveness,” she said.
At the same time, ADEPME wants to increase the job creation capacity of companies benefiting from its services, promised Ms. Faye during a meeting at the Ziguinchor government office.
She has been touring the 14 regions of the country for several days, to present the programs and projects of the SME support agency.
ADEPME implements several programs and projects to assist SMEs, according to its general director.
The Employment, Economic Transformation and Recovery program, the Support Program for the Acceleration of Industrialization and Job Creation are part of it, she said, adding that the first is financed by the World Bank , and the second by the African Development Bank.
The first is implemented to supervise 5,000 small and medium-sized businesses, the second being intended for 500 SMEs, according to Marie Rose Faye.
The Ziguinchor region concentrates significant opportunities for businesses, making it “a priority” for ADEPME, she said, assuring local SMEs of the agency’s support.
The Agency for the Development and Support of Small and Medium Enterprises mainly provides technical assistance and “capacity” services to SMEs, according to its general director.
