From over 500 years oldthe fair of Sainte-Luce occupies the second weekend of December, near Saint Lucia, in La Brède, in Gironde. Meet in the streets of the city of Montesquieu, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December 2024.

A tradition that continues and which this year once again presents a attractive program : gourmet fair under marquee, Christmas market, farm in the city, activities and even the big return of garage sale.

A little history

The custom is that La Brède comes alive with a big fair. This annual meeting was established under the reign of Louis XII. and still continues today. At the time, people came to do their provisions for winter and the cattle fair was in full swing.

In 2024, it is a fair for foodies and people looking for a Christmas present who took over.

60 local producers

During the two days, more than 60 producers from the South-West come to present and sell their gourmet products: foie grasducks, snails, cheesewine, beers, champagne and even chocolates. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8, there will be something for everyone at the Hope Park.

Moreover, pony rides are scheduled to tour this park from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A Christmas market with creators

For the curious looking for a gift for their loved ones, the gourmet fair will be accompanied by a Christmas market. It will be divided into two parts.

A first will take place in the same place as the fair and the party room will also be open, with a dozen creators. They offer products made especially for this festive period.

The return of the garage sale

This year marks an expected return. That of garage saleSunday December 8. After a short period of absence, Sunday returns to its stalls for bargain hunters. It is relaunched by the Peña taurine des Graves and will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., place Montesquieu and rue du Moulin.

Music and animals

Music will also be there with two animations. A first, Saturday at 5:45 p.m., is organized by the scouts. This is a stroll in song. Then on Sunday, the Saint-Jean d'Étampes church hosts a concert of classical music at 4:30 p.m.

The two days of festivities also feature food stands and a farm in the middle of town with the Califourchon association. Animals, such as pigs, ponies, poultry and donkeys, will attract the attention of onlookers who come to stroll through the aisles of the legendary Bredoise fair.
