The mysterious disappearance of a Brazilian photographer in the heart of sows concern

Since November 26, 2024, Flávio de Castro Sousa, 36-year-old Brazilian photographerdisappeared without a trace during a stay in Paris. Fell into the Seine on the day of his disappearance

The photographer was staying in the capital since November 1. According to the information we have, he was supposed to take the plane again on the 26th, but in the morning, he fell into the Seine, and was rescued and hospitalized at the Georges-Pompidou University Hospital in the 15th arrondissement.

Released from the hospital the same day, Flavio was reportedly seen going with her clothes still wet in the agency managing their apartment rental, with the aim of extending their stay. Shortly after, he went to his home located on rue des Reculettes in the 13th arrondissement, where he allegedly began packing his bags. His trace disappears at that moment. According to CNNall his personal effects, including his passport, disappeared from the apartment. “It’s really very vague, these elements make no sense,” a relative of the deceased told us.

His phone found in a flower pot

Since then, radio silence. Worried, his relatives tried to contact him multiple times. His phone, found in a flower pot in a brasserie near the Eiffel Tower, was found, but unable to unlock it. In Brazil, several media have already relayed this worrying disappearance. On the French side, an investigation was opened and entrusted to the Brigade for the Repression of Personal Delinquency.

The young man, originally from Belo Horizonte, had come to Paris for professional reasons before spending his vacation there. Passionate about film photography, he relayed photos of his Parisian stay on his Instagram accountwith photographs of Notre-Dame and the Louvre Museum.
