After its broadcast, a little confidential, on Paramount +, at the start of the school year, the series Zorrowith Jean Dujardin in the title role, will be broadcast from Monday December 23 on France 2.
The series by Benjamin Charbit and Noé Debré is made up of eight episodes. This action vaudeville, with Audrey Dana and André Dussolier (among others), modernizes the myth of the vigilante character. There we find an aging Don Diego de la Vega, who has become mayor of his city, and who is reluctant to put on his cape, his mask and his sword again, despite the difficulties which accumulate.
A “jaw-breaking” project
For Jean Dujardin, playing Zorro, a few years after Lucky Luke, was a childhood dream. Ultimately, the filming and its multiple action scenes were not child's play. “I was fascinated by the way others looked at me as Zorro,” Jean Dujardin told us in September. It was very intimidating to see them looking at me. Everyone has an image of Zorro in their head. Seeing her in the eyes of others was impressive. »
The broadcast of this family series on a major terrestrial channel, during the school holidays, should allow France 2 to achieve good audiences. What, perhaps, reassures Jean Dujardin who was anxious at the release on Paramount + of the series which he ardently defended. “It’s a scary project, one of those that we say to ourselves it would be better not to go there because they are such a pain in the ass…”
