Press release. On November 30, 2024, the departmental congress of the memorial association Souvenir Français took place in the Trespoux Rassiels village hall. After welcoming members and sympathizers, Robert Delsart, General Delegate of the association for the Lot, thanked the authorities. General Pierre PELAPRAT, president of the ALACTE of the Lot, Colonel Bertrand LODDE, commander of the Lot gendarmerie group, Mr VIDILLE, mayor of Lagardelle, Mr Nicolas ROSE, deputy to the director of the ONaCVG of the Lot, Mr Yves SCHNELL , president of the National Union of Combatants for the Lot, Mr Jean-Luc VIDAL, technical manager of the Cahors ceremonies. A minute of meditation was observed in memory of those who died for France, the military and gendarmes, police, emergency services and members having left us this year. The general delegate opened the congress by recalling the missions of French Remembrance: – Preserve the Memory of the Dead for France. – Participate in patriotic ceremonies. – Pass on the torch of memory to younger generations. In February 2020, Robert DELSART was appointed Acting Delegate then in November of the same year General Delegate of French Souvenir Lotois. At my request, the headquarters located in Paris awards Mr Gérard CONEJERO the diploma of Honorary General Delegate for the services and availability rendered in the name of Memory. Special thanks to Ms. CAMBE, in the cemetery service, who during the 3 years 2021-22-23 of collaboration with the general delegation, carried out remarkable research work allowing the association to fulfill its mission of maintaining the burials of soldiers Dead for France, notably at the Cahors city cemetery (64 burials) in partnership with the Departmental Military Delegation, Colonel Josselin de METZ. Thanks to Mrs. Hélène SOLIVERES, mayor of Labastide du Vert, who, in close collaboration with the general delegation, created in the municipal cemetery a group burial of 3 soldiers who died for France during the Great War. This allows Souvenir Français to take charge of the maintenance of this grave to this day. Reminder of the main points of the Statutory Assembly in Paris in September 2024. In accordance with the statutes of the association and the progress of the election calendar for the function of general delegate, Robert DELSART is re-elected for 3 years. As of November 30, 2024, the number of members is increasing slightly and includes 108 people with up-to-date contributions. The Lot has 4 committees: Committee of Porte du Quercy (Lagardelle) chaired by Ms Nathalie BRASILIER, Committee of Cahors Grand Cahors chaired by Mr Jean-Luc VIDAILLAC, Committee of Figeac chaired by Mr Pascal MALLET, Committee of Montcuq en Quercy blanc chaired by Mr Hervé THIEBAUT. The presidents of each committee presented the moral and financial assessment (positive accounts), followed by the outlook for the year 2025. The general delegation closed this chapter with the presentation of its moral and financial assessment. List of subsidies granted to educational establishments for memorial trips, and those granted for the renovation of war memorials in 10 municipalities in the department. A call for volunteers is launched by the DG concerning the vacant positions of deputy general delegate and that of treasurer of the Cahors Grand Cahors committee. The General Delegate expressed the wish to have the possibility of participating in the Forum of Associations of Cahors 2025 and beyond. Authorities speak out. Presentation of medals and diplomas. Honorary diplomas: Mr VIDILLES, mayor of Lagardelle, Mr Simon BRASILIER, member of the Porte du Quercy committee, Mr Pascal MALLET, president of the Figeac committee, Mr Dominique SICHI, vice-president and secretary of the Figeac committee, Madame Chantal BRUEL, treasurer of the Figeac committee, Mr Jean-Luc VIDAILLAC, president of the Cahors Grand Cahors committee. The memory guardian diplomas were given to: Miss Cybiline MOUKARZEL, flag bearer of the Cahors Grand Cahors committee, Mr Bernard PERRIN, Rhine and Danube flag bearer of the Cahors Grand Cahors committee, Mr Jean-Pierre CONEJERO, door -flag of the general delegation. A formal ceremony, laying of a wreath at the Trespoux Rassiels memorial stele followed by a reception in the congress hall, finalizes the departmental congress. A lunch at the Auberge de la Tour in Sauzet closes the conference.
