: taxis on strike towards the National Assembly, nearly 500 km of traffic jams in Île-de-

A large-scale movement which causes significant disruption on the road. On this Tuesday morning, taxi drivers decided to demonstrate throughout , particularly on the A1 and in . More than 2000 taxis are expected around the National Assembly (7th), where some have already been stationed since 8 hours.

These drivers are mobilizing against the project of a new Health Insurance convention which must come into force in January 2025 for the transport of patients. Their convergence from the A1 towards the center of the capital caused nearly 500 km of traffic jams in Île-de-France at 9 a.m.

According to the Sytadin website, traffic is saturated on the A1 between (Val-d'Oise) and Porte de la Chapelle (18th century). It is also blocked on the A12 and on the A13 towards Paris to reach Porte d'Auteuil.

In detail, the demonstrators demand “the abandonment of measures threatening the taxi transport of patients”. They wish to “fight against illegal competition from VTC platforms, and finally promote taxis as an essential public service”, specifies the Team Taxi association on the social network X.

The new Health Insurance agreement notably reduces patient transport prices, which will now be set by the National Health Insurance Fund and not by the taximeter based on the duration of the journey as is normally the case. . In addition, patients will also have to share their taxi or light medical vehicle (VSL) with other patients and a detour of ten kilometers will be possible for each passenger.
