Patience on the Ile-de-France roads this morning. Angry taxi demonstrations are being organized in Île-de-France this Tuesday, December 3. A first procession took the A1 motorway at 7 a.m. towards Paris, between Gonesse and Porte de la Chapelle, indicates the Sytadin website.
Taxi artisans demonstrate for the second consecutive day in France. They are opposed to the agreement currently being negotiated with Health Insurance including lower pricing for patient transport.
Taxis want to sleep in front of the Assembly
In Louveciennes, in Yvelines, hundreds of taxis are also mobilized, noted a BFM Paris Île-de-France journalist. They took the road towards Paris in the morning, via the A13.
“The goal is not specifically to block traffic. The goal is to get to the National Assembly as quickly as possible,” says Bekir Cihan, one of the drivers mobilized this Tuesday morning.
The latter will even try to sleep in front of the Bourbon Palace this Tuesday evening. Alexandre Fraud, a licensed taxi driver in Yvelines, says he has “never seen so many colleagues gathered” for a demonstration.
The presence of hundreds of taxis on the roads of Ile-de-France, however, should further complicate traffic on the region's roads. This Tuesday morning, around 7:45 a.m., more than 300 kilometers of traffic jams were already recorded, well above the average at this time usually. The 420km mark was exceeded less than an hour later, around 8:15 a.m.
