Haute-. 1.2 million euros from the Department to fill the deficit in nursing homes

“The situation in nursing homes is worrying. The deficit for the 49 Altiligère establishments (excluding nursing homes backed by a hospital center, editor's note) stands at 4 million euros. » From the outset, the words of Florence Teyssier (Aurec-sur-) convey the seriousness of the situation.

Of the 49 accommodation establishments in the department, of which 25 are public and 24 private associations, only 12 are surplus to requirements. “The causes of this situation relate to a general context linked mainly to inflation, recruitment difficulties, massive recourse to temporary work as well as the increase in loan interests”, we can read in the report of the departmental assembly.

In this sense, elected officials approved compensation for the deficit to the tune of 1.2 million euros. “This vote could allow them to return somewhat to balance,” added President Marie-Agnès Petit.

A total of 2.5 million euros allocated to social and medico-social establishments and services

In the disability sector, the balance sheet shows a deficit of 1.27 million euros, including 828,000 euros for the accommodation section falling under departmental jurisdiction. The department will allocate 364,466 euros to him. Child protection will, for its part, receive 411,483 euros and home services 498,000 euros.

In total, and with the money paid to support nursing homes, the total amount allocated by the Department to social and medico-social establishments and services amounts to 2.5 million euros.
