Here is December, and it is the return of Sports Trophies of La Presse de la Manche! Who will succeed boxer Hugo Morel and young pilot Lilou Durel, winners in 2023? You decide! The editorial team divided into two categories (elites and hopefuls) athletes born in Manche or playing in our department.
Duels to qualify for the final
In total, there are 32 nominated athletes (16 in each category). They will be decided by duels with a table system like tennis tournaments. We start with the 8es finals, then the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final.
To vote, on Facebook and Instagram
To vote during the duels which will be posted online every day at 8 p.m., simply go to our Facebook pages (general and sport) and on Instagramclick on the story of the page and choose your favorite athlete.
Example, this Monday evening, will be put online on the first 8e final among the hopefuls between Tom Brunet (motocross) and Pablo Herland (surfing). Whoever wins the most votes will qualify for the quarter-finals. And so on…
The 16 hopes
- Axel Bouquet (cycling) : this is the new nugget of Manche cycling. Winner three times in the Junior Nations Cup, vice-champion of Normandy and 10e of the French championship, Axel Bouquet (18 years old) made the colors of Moyon-Percy VC shine. The native of Avranches will imitate his father Camille next year by joining the professional ranks, in the Arkéa Reserve-B&B Hotels.
- Tom Brunet (moto) : French 125cc champion, European and world team vice-champion, 12e of the world championship… After a year 2023 thwarted by physical problems and a sluggish start to the season, Tom Brunet (17 years old) returned to center stage in 2024. The Réthovillais caught the eye of the VHR team Yamaha who signed him up as a support rider for 2025.
- Inès Delacroix (swimming) : Inès Delacroix (21 years old) confirmed her status asrising star Manche sport. The swimmer of Saint-Georges-de-Bohon won the biggest title of his young career in October during the European Open Water Swimming Cup, finishing in first place in the general classification after notably finishing on the podium in a 25 km in Macedonia.
- Isild Drouet (athletics) : Integrated since the start of the school year hope pole of Nantes (Loire-Atlantique) with the status ofhigh-level athlete, the promising Isild Drouet (16 years old, Athlétic Club Cotentin) has just smash the Channel record all categories of pole vault (3.92 m). - Lilou Durel (automobile) : she is the title holder of our most promising trophy. Vice-champion of France in 2023, the driver from Hardinvast (20 years old) reached another milestone this season by being crowned French Sprint Girl champion in October, after winning four of the seven races on the program. She is destined for a bright future in motorsport.
- Lucile Hélard (sport shooting) : graduated from ASAM, Lucile Hélard participated in the world shooting sports championships in October, in Lima, Peru, where she took 34e individual place in juniors and 8e place per team. At the very beginning of the year, she finished 5e in the Junior World Cup in Granada (Spain) and 10e of the European Championship in Hungary. She dreams of participating in JO 2028.
- Pablo Herland (surf) : in the Herland family, I would like… the big brother! After Lucien who was nominated last year after his title of European champion for 11-13 year olds in skateboarding, the honors this time go to the eldest of the siblings, Pablo (15 years old) who made the team proud. Cotentin Surf Club, in Siouville-Hague, finishing 3e at the start of the year of the French Under-18 Cup, in Martinique.
- Juliette Holé (golf) : at only 16 years old, Cherbourgeoise Juliette Holé continued her meteoric progress this season. Winner in July of the renowned Seignosse tournament, the little sister of Augustin Holé (n°35 French), also shone at the prestigious GP of Brittany, in Dinard, where she simply fell in the semi-final against the future winner of the competition.
- Olivia Jeanne (athletics) : this is the revelation of the season. Newly arrived in the world of athletics after having shone for a long time in swimming, Olivia Jeanne (16 years old, AS Tourlaville) won the bronze medal at the French 5 km championship (18'03″), among the cadets. She confirmed by taking a superb 6e place during the “Regional” in Foulées on November 11.
- Lane Marine (canoe-kayak) : crowned vice-champion of France single-seater in 500m at Gravelines in July, Marin Lanée then achieved another leading performance on the international scene. The 20-year-old Treauvillais in fact took 4e place in the U23 final, category SS1 (single-seater surfski) during the world championships, held in Madeira. THE 2028 Olympic Games are in his line of sight.
- Noé Lebreton (football) : it has become one of the darlings of the Michel d'Ornano stadium. At only 20 years old, midfielder Noé Lebreton has established himself as a major player at Stade Malherbe de Caen. Started ten times by Nicolas Seube in fourteen days of Ligue 2, the native of La Haye-Pesnel, trained in Avranches, has scored two goals since the start of the season.
- Dayann Lopez (handball) : arriving in 2022 at the JS Cherbourg training center, the 20-year-old Guadeloupean contributed this season to the promotion of the reserve to N2. Above all, he earned his stripes as a Proligue player by achieving great performances with the flag team, as evidenced by his 7 goals scored against Sarrebourg. He is reservist in the French U21 team.
- Léandre Lozouet (cycling) : solid 20e of Paris-Roubaix hopefuls, 8e of a stage of the Tour de l'Avenir, Léandre Lozouet (20 years old) completed a promising first professional season. The native of Saint-Germain-sur-Ay enhanced his record by finishing 3e of the U23 European Championship. Enough to convince the managers of Arkéa-B&B Hôtels to integrate it into theWorld Tour team in 2025.
- Romane Morel (tennis) : last year, at this time, Romane Morel was ranked 2/6. Saint-Loise is now 0, only 15 years old, after a great season punctuated by 33 victoriesincluding three against negative players. Training partner of Alice Robbe and Audélie Lesauvage at USO Mondeville, the hope of Manche women's tennis notably won the New Year's tournament in Saint-Lô.
- Pablo Pagnier-Romero (kitesurfing) : aged 15, Pablo Pagnier-Romero has a bright future in his discipline. - Louka Tesson (athletics) : four medals at the Normandy championship, including two in gold (200 m hurdles and javelin) and two in silver (pole vault and discus), Channel records by the dozen, brilliant results in UNSS with a vice-champion title from France in the company of his comrades from the Diderot college… Louka Tesson symbolizes the vitality of training at AS Tourlaville.
