Anger of farmers: a demonstration in progress in Auch, blockages and disruptions to be expected

Farmers from Gers, angry at their working conditions and recent agricultural reforms, are organizing a large demonstration this Monday, December 2 in Auch. The call for mobilization was launched at the end of last week by the Young Farmers of Gers, who declared: “Today, the game is far from won, but the lines are moving on Mercosur.”

Significant disruptions expected around 5 p.m.

Since 1 p.m., demonstrators have been converging towards the capital, causing significant slowdowns on the N21, N124 and D930 axes, as reported by the Departmental Council in a press release published this Monday. From 3 p.m., blockades are planned at several strategic points, including the Justes roundabout and the area around Place de la Libération, in the upper town. Motorists should expect significant disruptions, particularly at 5 p.m.

Departmental and prefectural authorities call for caution and recommend following information in real time via Info Route 32 on Facebook or local media. It is advisable to anticipate travel, particularly to pick up children from school.

The prefecture reminds that the situation is evolving and invites the population to respect the instructions of the police.
