The author Kamel Daoud will be at a signing session on Wednesday December 4 and Thursday December 5 in two bookstores in Gard.
This is the first time that an Algerian author has won the most prestigious French literary prize. “Houris”, his book awarded the 2024 Goncourt Prize, is banned in its country of origin and was not presented at the Algiers Book Fair. The book looks back on the dark decade in Algeria (1992-2002). Kamel Daoud was rewarded for his work on November 4 in Paris.
