Created in 2021 and co-led by the Department and the prefecture of the Occitanie and Haute-Garonne region, it “aims to strengthen prevention and improve the path to recovery from violence for victims and their children”. And this, based on a collection of data. “It is an essential tool to better understand and collectively combat this violence, allowing us to adjust our responses to this unacceptable reality,” said Pierre-André Durand, prefect of the Occitanie and Haute-Garonne region. Among them: the violenceometer, the wheel of power and control and the cycle of violence which “allows the behavior of the aggressors to be identified, and the victims to become aware of the dynamics at work in domestic violence”, but also devices such as good taxis created by the OVDF which takes care of emergency transport for women victims of domestic violence in Haute-Garonne. Between July 2023 and June 2024, more than 130 trips were ensured to allow them to meet a social worker, file a complaint or access the Medical-Judicial Unit.
