The body of a 27-year-old man who had been missing for a week was found on Sunday December 1, 2024 at the foot of the cliffs of the Roc d'Anglars, in Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, in Tarn-et-Garonne. A physical examination was requested by the prosecution.

The gendarmes of the community of brigades (COB) of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val discovered the lifeless body of a 27-year-old man, from Caylus (Tarn-et-Garonne) at the rock of AnglarsSunday 1is December 2024. Missing for a week, he was the subject of an intensive search after the discovery of his car parked at the Roc d'Anglars lookout.

Early in the morning, tourists reported a car at the site. The military then confirmed that it was the vehicle of the young man, described as depressed by those close to him. Due to a lack of traces around the car, the gendarmes called on a helicopter from Haute-Garonne to inspect inaccessible areas.

The body spotted on a cliff side

At midday, the body was spotted on the steep side of the cliff, in an area that was difficult to access. The Emergency and Mountain Rescue unit (formerly GRIMP) of the Sdis (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service) of Tarn-et-Garonne intervened to recover the remains. The operation lasted almost an hour due to the difficulty of the terrain.

On site, Captain Jérôme Bringuier, second in command of the brigade, supervised the operations. The death was certified by a doctor, who noted a medico-legal obstacle.

An autopsy required

An autopsy was required by the Montauban public prosecutor's office to determine the exact causes of death. At the end of the afternoon, the body was transferred to the Forensic Institute (IML) of -Purpan.

Investigators are favoring the theory of suicide, while waiting for the autopsy to confirm or clarify the exact circumstances.
