follow taxi blockages and filter barriers

Taxis are mobilized in the Metropolis this Monday, December 2, and are planning blockages and filter barriers throughout the day.

While angry taxis plan to mobilize this Monday, December 2 in the Metropolis of Lyon, between 2,000 and 3,000 professionals from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region are expected for several days to “paralyze“Lyon. They denounce the new agreement of the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAM) on medical transport, among others.

As of this Monday morning, traffic is already complex on several axes in the Lyon metropolitan area, due to the first blockages.

8:15 a.m. First blockages in the metropolis of Lyon

From 6 a.m., several convoys of taxis were already heading towards Lyon, as announced by the professional taxi federations. The following blockage points are affected at 8:15 a.m., according to the Prefecture: the M6, at the Valvert interchange (Tassin-la-Demi-Lune); the Node des Îles interchange (A42 – A46 – Rocade Est); the A7/A450 interchange; and the A7, at the interchange with the southern urban boulevard (D301).

In the Villefranche-sur-Saône area, a snail operation is also underway this morning. Taxis also present at the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier toll gate are expected on the A43 motorway.

Blockage at Bellecour during the day

Before this day of mobilization, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes prefecture was already planning significant slowdowns on several road axes: the A7 motorway from the -Reventin toll barrier, the A40 from Cluses and Thonon-les- Bains, the A42 from Ambérieu-en-Bugey, the A43 from the Saint-Quentin-Fallavier and Chambéry toll gate, the A47 and the national road 88 from Saint-Etienne, Montbrison and Haute-, and the A89 from and Puy-de-Dôme.

Also, angry taxis plan to mobilize in Bellecour, in Lyon, around 6 p.m. “No lasting blockage will be tolerated“, warned the Rhône prefecture on Sunday. The same goes for possible filtering of access to hospitals.
