“Angry local missions”. This is the name of the group organized by the Mission Locale de la Mayenne association, “in reaction to the announcement by Christelle Morançais, the president of the regional council of Loire" rel="tag">Pays de la Loire, of the complete elimination of the subsidy of 3 million euros, paid to local Loire missions”.
The professionals, around fifty in the department, will mobilize on Tuesday December 3, 2024, from 11 a.m., Place du Général Ferrié in Laval, “with young people, partners and elected officials in solidarity”. Protests have already taken place in the region.
“A worrying situation”
The Mayenne association intends “explain the consequences of the end of this financial support” and reminds that “Local Missions are key players in supporting young people aged 16 to 25 towards employment and training”. Without this subsidy, these “are facing a worrying situation”.

The CGT Local Mission and Integration Pays de la Loire also expressed itself in a press release. She mentions “a brutal decision”Who “undermines an entire regional network”. She fears a drop in funding from other communities which participate in the financing of local missions, which are also forced to save money. The union specifies: “Across the Pays de la Loire region, with 700 professionals, the Local Missions work alongside 45,000 young people aged 16 to 25 who have left the school system. »
