Tours FC (R1) : 3
OC Cesson (N3): 0
A final whistle. And then… deliverance. The joy, immense. Communion. This Saturday evening, neither the thick fog that enveloped the stands of the Cher Valley, nor the winter cold, nor the icy wind that appeared at the end of the evening, could have deprived the Tours FC players of this beautiful celebration that they shared with their supporters. Just reward for the triumph that Bryan Bergougnoux's men offered themselves by defeating OC Cesson, resident of N3, to climb to 32e of the Coupe de France final (3-0). A first for the sky and black club since the 2018-2019 season.
A supersonic first goal
A qualification which, to be honest, did not suffer from any dispute, not even from the opposing clan, as the Tourangeaux knew how to put the right ingredients in to dominate their evening opponent and defy the hierarchy of the championships.
Result: a short minute. Barely. This is the time it took for the Tourangeaux to already deliver a baton blow to the heads of the OC Cesson players, completely caught cold.
There, Tours FC went on the attack, observed the opposing goalkeeper, Yodo, come out of his area to clear his camp. But the poor Breton goalkeeper saw his kick bounce off Noah Randazzo, who, cutting through the surrounding mist, chased this improbable ball, which left to end up just to the right of the empty Bretillian goal. Lively, the Tourangeau had time to catch the leather, to correct its trajectory and place it in the back of the net (1-0, 1re).
A supersonic goal, but which, so early in the match, did not yet have the value of a victory, far from it. Especially since five minutes later, Cesson in turn alerted the local defense of a header at the near post by Renier, receiving a cross from Gomes Desa. Without consequence, thanks to the beautiful intervention of Amrani (7e).
Realistic and solid towers in defense
However, the fact is that this will remain the only real clear opportunity for Cessonnais. Proof of the defensive consistency that Léo Schwechlen and his partners then demonstrated to prevent their counterparts from finding solutions in their camp.
Les Ciel et Noir, for their part, conversely knew how to show themselves impeccably realistic. First by doubling the bet by Badirou, served in depth and winning his duel against the goalkeeper (2-0, 30e).
Then, by extinguishing all Breton hope at the 86eon a gem of a free kick from Abdallah, author of a splendid curling shot into the opposite corner (3-0). This, even though Cesson had been able to put more pressure on the previous five minutes, a little late.
The bill could even have been even heavier given the multiplication of the Touraine offensives in the last minutes, against the Bretons having clearly given up. But the essentials had already been assured for a while.
