The Forvia group, the world’s seventh largest supplier of automotive technologies, inaugurated a factory located in the Technopolis Industrial Acceleration Zone on Wednesday in Salé.

The Moroccan city of Salé, which stands out for its Technopolis Industrial Acceleration Zone, has a unit dedicated to the cutting, assembly and manufacturing of textile and leather covers for automobile seats, thus strengthening the Forvia’s industrial capabilities in Morocco and meeting the growing demands of its manufacturing clients.

The Moroccan Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, welcomed this new infrastructure, stressing that it reflects the confidence of international industrial players in Morocco’s competitiveness and its industrial potential, particularly in the automotive sector.

He added that this initiative will contribute to better local integration of the automotive industry, while consolidating its positioning in global value chains.

The project, which plans to create 1,400 jobs by 2027, also represents a significant employment opportunity.

Techopolis, which is dedicated to cutting-edge industries, offers world-class infrastructure and strategic logistical advantages thanks to its proximity to the capital Rabat, ports and major transport routes.

Forvia is also planning the expansion of its site in Kénitra, where 450 additional positions will be generated.

In this context, the general director of Forvia, Patrick Koller, underlined the strategic importance of Morocco for the group, thanks to a constantly growing domestic market.

He insisted on the role of Forvia’s investments in local economic development, while improving competitiveness and production quality in the automotive sector.

Present in Morocco since 2008, Forvia now has three factories in the Kingdom: two in Kénitra and one in Salé. The company employs around 4,000 people and specializes in the production of automobile fascias, dashboards, door panels, as well as the assembly of exhaust aftertreatment systems.
