This Friday, November 29, El Malick Ndiaye, Minister of Infrastructure and Land and Air Transport, welcomed the President of Huawei Africa, Mr. Hetao He, for a strategic meeting around the project of digitalization of road traffic and video-verbalization at Dakar.
During this meeting, significant readjustments were obtained to strengthen the effectiveness and scope of the project. Among the main advances:
Total coverage of the Dakar region, thanks to a better distribution of digital devices, making it possible to monitor the entire road network.
Doubling the number of radars, to secure high-risk interurban areas, where accidents are frequent.
The training of 10 Senegalese engineers, in order to guarantee local and autonomous management of digital platforms.
The minister welcomed this progress as decisive steps towards modernizing the Senegalese road network. “These innovations are not limited to making traffic flow more fluidly, they also contribute to strengthening user safety while developing national technical skills,” he declared.
With these adjustments, the partnership between Senegal and Huawei positions itself as a model of technological collaboration in the service of sustainable development and road safety.
