Two amateur clubs from Valencia (Drome) have an appointment, this Saturday, November 30, with the Old Lady for the 8th round of the Coupe de France: le Valence FC et Valencia Olympic. The two Valence clubs, opposed respectively to FC Martigues (Bouches-du-Rhône) and Bourgoin-Jallieu (Isère), will count on the magic of the Cup to open wide the doors of the 32es final, which will mark the entry into the competition for Ligue 1 clubs.
Valence FC in search of an exploit
This will be the case in particular for Valence FC, resident of Regional 3 (7th in Pool D), who will be looking for an exploit. Little thumb of the competitionwith another R3 club, Le Touquet ACF (Pas-de-Calais), Valence FC will be anything but favorite during this 8th round since it will face a professional team from Ligue 2: FC Martigues.
At kick-off, six divisions will separate the two teams. A little more than 2,000 spectators are expected at the Georges Pompidou stadiumthis Saturday, November 30, to see this poster and support Elies Khodja's players. The match will kick off at 6 p.m.
Even if the Martégaux are not in the form of their lives – the FCM is currently bottom of the L2, the players of Valence FC will have to overturn mountains to capsize the Valence enclosure with happiness.
In the previous round, on Saturday November 16, Valence FC had already created a sensation by eliminating Marignane-Gignac, a team playing four divisions above, in National 2. The Valentinois had won 1-0 thanks to a goal from the header of Djeto Fabre from the 6th minute of play, thus joining the 8th round, an unprecedented performance for this small club. So who knows if the magic of the Cup won’t happen again this weekend…
Olympique de Valence traveling to Isère
The difference in level will be less with regard to the other Valencia club involved in this 8th round since a division of difference will separate Valencia Olympicwho plays in the regional elite (R1), Bourgoin-Jallieu (National 3).
The Rouge et Noir will not have the privilege of hosting and will travel, this Saturday, November 30, to Isère on the pitch from the Chantereine stadium. A bus is chartered for supporters with a journey and entry to the stadium for 22 euros.
The kick-off will also be given at 6 p.m. In the 7th round, the Valentinois won 1-0 against AC Arles (Regional 1) thanks to a goal from Rafik Boujedra in the 27th minute, during an electric encounter, marked by three expulsions.
So will the two Valencia clubs see the 32es final? Answer tomorrow around 8 p.m.
