His colleagues only saw the tips of his fingers. This Friday morning, at 11 a.m., a road worker digs a trench on the site of the Agora residence in Allan, 14 Route Malataverne, a drainage site to install the rainwater evacuation network. The ground slips beneath his feet. The 65-year-old man found himself completely buried in a trench 5 meters deep. His colleagues just see a hand above the ground. After alerting the firefighters, they began to dig around their comrade and managed in less than 5 minutes to free his head. The worker lost consciousness but when firefighters arrived, he was conscious.
Around thirty firefighters did the rest of the work and cleared it completely. A nurse was on site, he did not need to be hospitalized, the sixty-year-old left safely. The firefighters then consolidated the remaining walls with boards.
“It created a moment of amazement. This accident could have been dramatic” declares the mayor of Allan, Yves Courbis, relieved at this happy outcome.
