Beware of this scam in Oise which offers you free rides

Don't let your head get carried away, if you plan to take a few rides on the beautiful horses of the carousel of the Compiègne Town Hall Square (Oise).

Positioned during the city's Christmas market, it is the object of desire for scammers, particularly on the Internet. “A malicious person has created a site to help you win rides in Compiègne,” warns the Agglomeration of the Compiègne Region (ARC) on its Facebook page. This is actually a scam.

And to add:

Compiègne Town Hall never asks for billing information to win rides.

However, the site in question is well enough designed to appear serious and presents itself as a service of the urban area: “You are the lucky one who received a gift from us,” it tells Internet users.

By clicking on the link, you are designated as the lucky winner of “2 tickets for the carousel at the Place de la Mairie in Compiègne and as a bonus a €50 gift card as a thank you”. Thank you for what? History doesn't say it. And of course, this is all bogus. You have been warned.
