The authors Claire Oulhen and Hélène Cloarec, who reside respectively in Landunvez and Lannilis, will tour the Christmas markets of northern Finistère, starting this Sunday, December 1, 2024, in Lannilis. These childhood friends write in different registers. Claire Oulhen, AESH (supporter of students with disabilities) at the Kéribin school in Ploudalmézeau and art therapist, writes books for children. Hélène Cloarec, a nurse, is interested in the facts of society which she depicts in her works in a humorous and corrosive style.
With her daughter-in-law who lives in Australia
After publishing a first work “Life is good!” », in February 2023, Claire Oulhen has just released a second youth album entitled “Tik Tak Tok ne s’aiment plus”. “This second book was created in collaboration with my daughter-in-law, Rubie Gallagher, who was responsible for the illustration. Rubie lives in Australia and, after an accident which deprived her of the use of her legs, she decided to make her passion for illustration her profession. We are proud to have been able to carry out this project while living on opposite sides of the world,” explains Claire Oulhen. She will donate 20% of the profits from the sale of her book “Tik Tak Tok don’t love each other anymore” to children’s aid associations.
“In my book, everyone gets what they deserve!” »
Hélène Cloarec writes under the pseudonym Lenny K. The nurse decided, in 2020, to put herself in the shoes of a caregiver and to write, following this experience, a novel entitled “Happy New Year Grandmother” . “There I had a hard time doing my lovely job. With my outspokenness and funny writing, I wanted to shine a spotlight on the lives of our elders in nursing homes, whose model is running out of steam. And where the profession of caregiver is tough, too little valued and where there is a severe shortage of staff. In my book, everyone gets what they deserve, but with humor! », declares Hélène Cloarec.
