The chorus of voices from Lamolayrette will make this time of Noël on the territory of Quercy-Blanc and around Cahors.
The choir, formed in an intimate manner at its origin, has in almost a year and a half of existence tripled its numbers, bringing together around thirty choristers from different backgrounds and countries.
Choir directors from Covent Garden in the Lot
It’s a real melting pot of languages and culture. At its head, the choir director Darron Moore supported by his wife Katy Batho. Both singers of Royal Opera House du Covent Garden from London, they lead every Tuesday evening to Castelnau-Montratier rehearsals where the pleasure of singing and good humor rhyme.
On the program of 5 concerts to come, of course essential Christmas carols but also some great discoveries.
The Christmas tour
They are starting a Christmas tour, the dates of which are:
- Saturday December 7, 2024, at 4 p.m., at the Flaugnac Christmas market.
- Sunday December 8, at 3 p.m., at the Château du Roussillon near Cahors for the Christmas market.
- Tuesday, December 10, at 7 p.m., at the Flaugnac church. End of year concert by the choir with guest Guillaume Roussilhe, specialized in traditional Occitan music. - Sunday, December 15, concert with Darron Moore and Katy Batho and the choir, at the Sainte-Alauzie church at 4 p.m. This concert is under the aegis of the Sainte-Alauzienne association. Price: €12. Reservations: 06 42 28 65 36 or 06 89 72 60 23.
- Sunday, December 22, entertainment with the choir from the Castelnau-Montratier Christmas market, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Concert for Advent Sunday
Darron Moore and Katy Batho will also perform on Sunday 1is December 2024at 5:30 p.m., in the church of Castelnau-Montratier, on the occasion of the first Sunday of Advent. They will be alongside theMusicarpege ensemble composed of 3 musicians and 2 singers. The program is very varied, ranging from baroque to modern through classical, mixing singing, organ, transverse flute and trumpet. In solo, duo, trio, quartet and more they will perform works by: Fauré, Saint-Saëns, Handel, Mendelssohn, Purcell… Price: €12. Reservation : [email protected].
