The port will escape the City of Sucé-sur-Erdre

Located in the heart of the town, the port of Sucé-sur-Erdre is an emblematic place. Until then, the City managed and operated it, ensuring that the landscape was preserved as part of sustainable economic development that respected the environment. This management is carried out within the framework of a public service delegation (DSP) which ends on December 31, 2025.

Erdre in fact belongs to the Department and not to the City. This delegates the management of the port of Sucé-sur-Erdre to the Mixed Union of Ports of -Atlantique, just like those of , Nort-sur-Erdre and Blain.

A competitive tender will be launched in the coming days

Until now, each of these four river ports had its own DSP and different delegatees (Nantes Métropole for that of Nantes, the City of Nort for that of Nort, Loire-Atlantique Nautisme for Blain and the City for Sucé).

The Joint Union of Loire-Atlantique Ports has decided to renew the DSP for the four ports within the framework of a single Delegation contract, for all the ports from Nantes to Blain. A competitive tender will be launched by the ports of Loire-Atlantique in the coming days. Thus, economic players, whether private, public or parapublic, will be able to apply to intervene in the management of the four ports from 1is January 2026.

The City will not be able to apply for the management of the four river ports of the Erdre and intervene in other territories. Applying with one or more communities would represent too great a financial risk and would be legally fragile. On the other hand, some cities are not as concerned as Sucé by the management of “their” port. As for human and technical resources, the City does not have the necessary means to cope with this expanded application.

What quality of service?

With regret, the City will no longer be able to operate its port from 1is January 2026. It will and is already ensuring, as part of the rereading of the future specifications drawn up by the Ports of Loire-Atlantique, to maintain the quality of services for port users: boaters but also associations and stakeholders economic players involved in boating, tourism, catering, etc.

But above all it will ensure that it maintains the living environment around the port and works together with the future manager to maintain the quality of its heart of the town and the activities offered there and which contribute to the well-being of the town for its inhabitants. and its visitors. Because the first users of the port are the residents and numerous visitors who stroll along the quays and alleys which give Sucé-sur-Erdre its charm.
