Meuse. Elected officials and employees call for a major mobilization after the closure of the Stenpa stationery

The closure of the Stenpa paper mill in Stenay, in the Meuse, leads to massive layoffs which have a serious impact on the local economy. At the call of elected officials, employees and their representatives, a mobilization is planned this Saturday November 30 at 1:30 p.m., departing from the stationery site to go by procession to the city center.

Objective: display a unwavering support for employees concerned and recall the urgency of a revitalization plan for the territory.

Mayor Stéphane Perrin underlines the impact of this crisis: “More than 90% of licensees live less than 25 km from Stenay, and 75% in our community of municipalities. This weakens our businesses, services and associations. »

The employees want to denounce the management of the crisis by the company Stenpa and its owner Accursia.

A symbolic procession in the streets of Stenay

The march, a symbol of solidarity, will leave at 1:30 p.m. from the stationery site, rue de la Gare. The procession will take the streets of the city to the Carrefour de la Bécasse, before returning to Place de la République, around the kiosk.

Meet at 1:30 p.m. this Saturday, November 30, rue de la Gare/avenue du 18e BCP in Stenay.
