With 2 victories for 4 defeats this week, French football recorded a negative week and saw the Netherlands and Portugal getting closer.
French football has had the best European weeks since the start of the season. Due to the defeats of Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco, OGC Nice and Brest, the French UEFA index is falling. 5th in this ranking, France still took 0.571 points to bring its total to 63,807 thanks to the victories of Lille and Lyon. The Netherlands are 6th with 59,233 points. They gain 0.667 points thanks to the victory of PSV Eindhoven and two other draws. Portugal is still seventh with 56,491 points and has gained 1,275 points. The challenge of 5th place is that it gives three direct places for the championship phase of the Champions League and a fourth place in the preliminary round while 6th place only gives two direct tickets. At the top of the ranking, things are not changing. England remains in the lead ahead of Italy, Spain and Germany.
