This Orne village finds a childcare service: atypical hours

Evoking “a real opportunity”, the elected officials of Tinchebray-Bocage (Orne) voted in favor of the project. Now it's concrete. Work has been underway for several months in part of school of Saint-Cornier-des-Landes: there, a maternal assistance home (MAM) will see the light of day.
“We reorganized the premises to free up this part of the ground floor,” explains Frédérique Roullier, deputy mayor, beginning the visit. To present the progress of the project, the elected official is accompanied by Magalie Sebire, one of the two childminders who will take possession of the premises. The reception of children will be organized according to schedules atypical.

A childcare service during atypical hours

“We no longer had a childminder in the town for two years », recalls Frédérique Roullier. With Magalie Sebire, and another professional in the process of certification, residents will find a daycare servicefor their children.

A resident of the village, Magalie Sebire already has 14 years of experience in the social field, as well as a state nursing assistant diploma (DAES). Assets that will make it possible to expand reception to children with disabilities, neurotypicals or with specific needs.

Another specificity of the new reception space: it will operate according to atypical hours . “The slots will be set according to requests, but childcare will be possible from Monday to Friday from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday every other week,” continues the childminder.

A complete restoration and a call for donations

Funders of the work, the municipalities of Tinchebray-Bocage and Saint-Cornier will put the premises available of the pair of childminders. “The idea is to provide a service to local families, and in the process, revitalize the school,” notes Frédérique Roullier. A only stop will indeed be enough to deposit in both places.

Everything is being restored to provide a kitchen area, a living room, dormitories, a changing room, a laundry room and a terrace.

The new MAM will be able to accommodate up to eight childrenat the same time, aged from three months to seven years, “and there are still a few places left”, smiles Magalie Sebire who would like to thank all the people who contributed to the dons .

Besides, the needsare always present. “For example, we are looking for bed sheets, children’s crockery, garage or car imitation games…”

If the work schedule continues to be respected, the MAM will open during January 2025 . “We can’t wait,” says the childminder impatiently, talking about the organization of open doorsaimed at families. After the creation of a new center in Tinchebray, the childcare offer will take another step forward in the region.
