The Noor Ouarzazate solar power plant and the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, were awarded the Arab Government Excellence Award on Thursday in Cairo in the categories “Best infrastructure development project” and “ Best Governor” in the Arab region.
The two awards were presented to the Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the League of Arab States, Mohamed Ait Ouali, during a ceremony organized at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League, in the presence of several personalities including the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, the Secretary General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Director General of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, Nasser al-Qahtani.

The Arab Government Excellence Award was launched by the UAE in 2019, in partnership with the League of Arab States represented by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, with the aim of contributing to administrative development and institutional excellence government, stimulating leadership thinking and celebrating successful administrative and governmental experiences in Arab countries.
The Awards covering 15 categories are divided between “institutional” and “individual”, in order to cover all aspects of the work of the Arab government.
