Bernay region. Six towns and villages were rewarded for their flourishing

Five months after the visit of the jury of the Cities and villages in bloom label of the Department of Eure, the awards ceremony took place on Monday November 18, 2024 at Château d'Argeronne in La Haye-Malherbe (Eure).

Un label important

“We are proud to be among the 15 French departments labeled Department of Flowers, and to be the only one in ,” declared Myriam Duteil, vice-president of the Department of Eure in charge of nature protection during the ceremony.

“This label reflects thecommitment of our municipalities, our elected officials, our technicians and volunteerssupported by adapted training, to promote and perpetuate this dynamic which makes our territory a place where it is good to live and stroll,” underlined Myriam Duteil.

Several prices for flowering

Among the dozens of municipalities of the Department awarded, six are in our geographical area.

The village of Romilly-la-Puthenaye received the honorary prize. This prize rewards municipalities registered for the label for the first time and non-labelled municipalities which competed for the departmental prizes.

Beaumont-le-Roger, already having three flowers under his belt, obtained the urban planning price and the living environment. The jury thus rewards the discovery of the first stages of renovation of Chantereine park.

This prize rewards municipalities for quality of urban and landscapingactions carried out in favor of the quality of public spaces, the diversity of sports and recreational facilities, parks and even allotment gardens.

The good practice awards was awarded to the village of Drucourt. The municipality already labeled with three flowers is distinguished for the acquisition of some municipal land for re-seed the embankments.

This prize rewards municipalities for practice of differentiated management public spaces and plant engineering for the use of the tree charter and staff training.

Neuville-du-Bosc, labeled with three flowers, received the same prize for cemetery management.

The flowering price was attributed to Bec-Hellouin. Already the holder of two flowers, the village was rewarded for mixture of plants used : perennials, shrubs and annuals offer a balanced composition of the beds.

This prize rewards municipalities for the quality of their floral and landscaping arrangements.

Thirteen municipalities already have flowers

In the territory, thirteen municipalities already have the Villes et Villages Fleuris label.

This one “is a prestigious distinction which can be identified by the symbolic flowers affixed to the entrance to each award-winning commune. Ranging from 1 to 4 flowers, this label promotes the commitment of towns and villages in improving their living environment, respecting the environment and beautifying their public spaces. »

Obtaining a flower is not easy: candidate municipalities must respond to demanding criteria of the national grid, such as the quality of landscapingthe involvement of elected officials, outreach to residents, the preservation of natural spaces, and even the enhancement of heritage.

Broglie has just obtained his first flower. In the area, twelve other municipalities already have “flowers”. La Ferrière-sur-Risle, Grosley-sur-Risle, Harcourt, Mesnil-en-Ouche and Thiberville have a flower.

Bournainville-Faverolles, Le Bec-Hellouin and Serquigny have two flowers. Several towns and villages also have three flowers: Beaumont-le-Roger, Bernay, Brionne, Drucourt and La Neuville-du-Bosc.
