In a press release, this Thursday, November 28, the Hautes-Alpes National Police announced the placement in police custody of a man. The latter is suspected of refusing to comply and aiding illegal entry and stay in the territory, committed in Montgenèvre. Police officers trace the beginnings of this investigation initiated after a road check carried out on the night of November 27 to 28, in the Italy- direction, carried out by the border police (PAF). “The vehicle refuses to evade control, forces passage and flees towards Briançon”, specify the police. The dam put in place further down the valley proved to be ineffective.

The car found in the station: ten people on board

Around 4:10 a.m., following a PAF search, the vehicle was found in the station. During the check, the police arrested ten people, including “two in the trunk”. The driver, a man in his twenties and of Pakistani origin, confirmed to Dauphiné Libéré the public prosecutor of Marion Lozac'hmeur, is then placed in police custody. Administrative detention measures have been taken for the other nine passengers, while the investigation continues. The accused could be presented this Friday, November 29, for immediate appearance at the Gap judicial court.
