the Region releases 9 million euros to support agriculture

Closer to farmers. Since September 25 and until the end of November, the Region is organizing a departmental tour in order to meet agricultural professionals in the 13 Houses of My Region of the territory.

This initiative, aimed at supporting farmers in their investments and supporting them in the face of successive crises affecting the profession, is moderated by vice-presidents Vincent Labarthe and Jean-Louis Cazaubonrepresentatives of the president of the Occitanie Region, Carole Delga. These discussion times are an opportunity to take stock and discuss with professional players in the agricultural sector.

Strengthened support for Haut-Garonnais farmers

In Haute-Garonne, the Territorial Committee met on Monday, November 25 at the Maison de Ma Région in Saint-Gaudens, offering the Region the opportunity to “recall its commitment to the department in favor of agriculture”, she explains. Faced with an unprecedented crisis in the sector, the Region has already initiated “almost 9 million euros“to support Haut-Garonnais farmers over the period 2023/2024. This mobilization includes:

Installation support:

  • 113 installation projects supported at the end of October, including 34% of projects carried by young farmers.
  • 265 people adviseds in pre or post-installation.

Modernization of farms:

  • 64 files supported including 41 agricultural operations and 23 CUMA, for a total amount of eligible aid of 2.5 million euros.
  • 108 Pass Small investments voted in 2023 and 2024, for more than 558,000 euros.
  • 42 beneficiaries of the FOSTER guarantee fundwhich improves access to bank loans for operators, for 7.8 million euros. This represents 79 jobs supported and a leverage effect of 13.2 million euros in investments.

The agro-ecological transition:

  • 36 files supported via the MAEC Transition of practices for 648,000 euros, which helps support the agroecological transition of farmers towards economically efficient and ecologically resilient systems.
  • Via sustainable agriculture contracts (CAD)which make it possible to finance personalized support time for farmers to define their agroecological transition project over five years, through structures previously selected by the Region: 56 CAD requests validated, including 48 already completed, five structures selected and 26 advisors trained.

Hydraulic support:

  • 10.6 million euros of investments carried out for 8 million euros in aid, in order to support farms and network managers in meeting the dual challenge of agricultural production and sustainable management of water resources.
  • 16 collective projectscounting 13 modernizations and three individual retentions.
  • 1.2 Mm3 of water saved.
