After losing three of their first four matches, the Champcevinellois have been undefeated since mid-October.
It is with full confidence that the Champcevinel Handball Club approaches the reception of the Niort agglomeration agreement, this Saturday (9 p.m.). Indeed the HBCC came back victorious (32-36) from its trip to the Capo Limoges reserve last Sunday. A victory certainly against the last of the group but how important in the perspective of remaining in Pre-national.
Because after a rather complicated start to the season on an accounting level, the Champcevinellois finally seem to have found the right formula. “There was no real preparation during the off-season,” recalls coach Michel Cassier. So, now, we are finally reaping the fruits of two months of work. The group is on track and almost complete with significant returns from injuries. »
Between two waters
It is therefore a more eye-catching HBCC and undefeated for three matches (two draws, one victory) which will face the Niortais. Especially since if Champcevinel is far from being out of the woods by being in 9th place in the ranking, he is not very far from the top of the table either. Only four points separate it from the Territoire Charente reserve, leader of the ranking. “But here, we receive one of the biggest teams in the group,” warns the Champcevinello coach. Niort has the best attack and is the team with the greatest number of victories.
A major challenge which will allow the coach to gauge his team as mid-season approaches. “This meeting should position us to know which side we are going to go to, before two final confrontations against Bruges and Limoges who have the same number of points as us in the standings. » The HBCC will therefore have to prevail to approach the holidays more calmly. But also to finally achieve a first success at home.
