Longeoles, röstis and terrines with local pistachio: at Arcadia, the designer furniture store in Eaux-Vives, the PLR association of the City of Geneva presented its recipe for gaining ground during the 2025 municipal elections. More major opposition party within the City of Calvin, the PLR will try to regain the seat lost on the Administrative Council in 2012, after the departure of Pierre Maudet. Since then, the city of Geneva has only one representative of the center right.
“We have experienced a catastrophic legislature. The left, ultra-majority, is advancing in forced march,” summarized the president of the PLR City of Geneva Maxime Provini in front of the audience of entrepreneurs and politicians, including the two State Councilors Nathalie Fontanet and Anne Hiltpold. By way of illustration, he described as a “demagogic decision” the green light from a majority of the Municipal Council to the acquisition of the plot from the designer Zep for 22 million francs. He announces that the PLR will launch a referendum.
