On the last day of the first phase, Bourges won at Zabiny Brno (65-85) while Basket Landes did the same at home against Schio (68-59). On the other hand, Villeneuve d'Ascq conceded a 5th defeat in 6 matches in Zaragoza after having resisted the Spanish team for a long time (68-59).
The top three clubs from Groups A and B come together to form Group E, while the same principle applies to Groups C and D to form Group F. All results from the first round have been carried forward, with the groups crossing over to play against the remaining teams in the same home-and-away format.
The groups for the second round are as follows:
Group E: Beretta Famila Schio (ITA), Basket Landes (FRA), Perfumerias Avenida (ESP), CBK Mersin (TUR), Tango Bourges Basket (FRA), Zabiny Brno (CZE)
Group F: Fenerbahce Opet (TUR), Casademont Zaragoza (ESP), KGHM BC Polkowice (POL), Valencia Basket Club (ESP), ZVVZ USK Praha (CZE), Umana Reyer Venezia (ITA)
After a one-week break, the second round will begin on December 11 with two days of matches to close the calendar year.
There will be six weeks of action in total, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals, while the teams finishing third and fourth in each group will compete in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, the four clubs that finished last in their respective groups in the first round – DVTK HUNTHERM, Olympiakos, Villeneuve d'Ascq LM and Uni Gyor – will now compete in the Eurocup at the first round play-off stage.
